Been collecting jars through the year, ready for various preserves, but am having trouble getting the residual label glue off some of the jars. Any suggestions?

I use something called "Sticky Stuff Remover". Think I got it from Betterware or Kleeneze. Quick goggle seems to show lots of places stock it. Best tip in using it is to leave it to soak in a bit and then it works really well. -

WD40 and a bit of wire wool does it for me. To remove labels in pretty much one piece, I fill the jar with boiling water and leave to stand for a couple of minutes. The glue softens, and using an oven glove you can then empty out the water and peel off the label.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

This has been discussed on here before, but I can't find the thread. If in doubt, I think lighter fluid works, and also Baby Wipes!

Definitely Sticky Stuff Remover from Lakeland. Lasts forever and works really quickly, although it does leave things a bit oily.

I use bees wax furniture polish the sort that comes in a round tin, I tried it once when I was desperate it worked so I've used it ever since.Location....East Midlands.Comment

Often, I just scrape the gunk off with the side of a table knife, then finish off with one of those green scouring pads. Wouldn't want to do lots of jars that way though!!Comment
