  • Jack by the hedge recipes

    Hi there

I went out into some woods today and came back with a huge load of Jack by the hedge (garlic mustard).

I'd love to hear any recipes you might have.

So far I have put some in a fancy cheese toastie and thinking about making some pesto later.

    Any more ideas?

I've been pulling it out in the garden this morning. I eat a few leaves in a mixed salad but that's about it.

      These any good:
      - wilted in an omelette with some pan-fried spud slivers
      - chopped and cooked with bitter greens (leaf chicory or kale) and stuffed in a pitta with some blue cheese & toasted pine kernels
      - if you have some time, cook it with spinach, blitz and add to pasta dough for flavoured green pasta. You'll need more flour than normal, even if you really squeeze the water out of the greens.

        Thanks both of you
I decided to have it both in/on my omlette and in the side salad.
Love it, still got loads left though!
