  • Decisions, decisions.......

Trying to make my mind up whether to go the whole way and register as making preserves from home. Which then means I have to register self-employed etc etc.....
Have spoken to the tax people and they say 'tis ok to sell a few jars to friends and rellies but anything else and you need to register.
Also waiting to hear back from trading standards as to what actually has to go on the labels ......and then need to speak again to the enviromental health about getting approval/registration.
All this to do a craft fair or two..........Is it worth it ?

You also need to have an approved kitchen ... I didn't even apply as I don't have the mandatory two sinks

Domestic approval doesn't need two sinks in the kitchen . I have another one in the downstairs loo which is two doors away from the kitchen with an extractor in the lobby between . I think I can cover whats needed for approval ...Its just the faff of doing it all ......
You can also have a pet as long as they are shut out of the kitchen while you are cooking .
