Me, I made a mess! Dropped some pastels on the floor when moving an unsecured box, and now have disgusting pink powdery splodges on a beige carpet. Not good.
Oh, and I made a cuppa!

I haven't made any mince pies this year. Yet.
I top mine with marzipan stars, meringue, streusel topping, frangipane, flapjack mixture (before you press it flat into the tin if you're just making flapjacks) anything but pastry really. If I do use pastry it's puff.
If'n I have time, I would like to bake and ice some giant gingerbread men for stockings, but time is getting short now.Jules

I made some lemon curd tarts yesterday, with the 21p lemon curd I bought as I needed jars. Jules - like the idea of alternative mince pies - might pinch those ideas. Tonight I'm planning on making some marzipan to ice the mini chrimbo cakes and also some chilli jam for my brother's hamper. Oooh gingerbread men, they're going on my list too.Comment

Tried a recipient from a schwarz add for ginger biscuits with sweet ginger icing. Very good! Like gingery millionaires shortbread so they will be going in hampers.

Sweet ginger icing sounds lovely.
