| hi. no problem to use frozen blackcurrants just defrost in your pan on a gentle heat and use as normal. Ive frozen all my loganberry's to make jam later on. freeze sloe's to make sloe jelly as this saves you pricking them as they burst when frozen |

| If your blackcurrants are 'freeflow' frozen, try shaking them about in a metal collander while still frozen, to 'top and tail'. Less 'bits' in the finished jam. I make sloe gin (a sweet version). I never prick the sloes, just put them in big jamjars, add sugar, leave on a sunny windowsill for 3-7 days before adding the gin.
