    Whopper! But is it a record?

    Hi Peeps, this was laid today........

    135g!!!

    Had a 110g one last week but this beats it hands down. The other egg in the picture is a 65g maran egg.

      That must have taken some concentration!

      I was mucking out yesterday and one of the cream legbars was desperate to lay so she came in and got in the nestbox. Literally within 2 minutes she started making an ooh ooh cooing/sighing sort of sound, then hunched up and deposited a perfect blue egg. I've seen quite a few eggs being laid but never heard a hen make those sounds before. It was a normal sized egg too, not huge like yours.

                One of mine groans gently when she lays - good sized eggs but not massive. I picture her like The Thinker - with her wing on her forehead in concentration!

                  that must have made her eyes water,what type of bird is it?, wow..that would make some boiled egg,if you could find an eggcup to take it, is this the size of your future eggs?,if so breed off her....please...
