  • Suprise Chicks

Went to the allotment today being bank holiday I had a bit more time. I went and checked on my bantams as one of them wasnt around.
I went in the shed andthere she is sat with one new born chick chirping away. I never even knew she was broody!!!!
What I think has happened is when I have gone up to feed them at night she has jumped off the eggs which where underneath the nest box(never noticed them) then when I have gone she must have gone straight back on. Im going to have to watch out for this. Has anyone else had anything like this?

ha ha thanks Nicos. She didn't half attack me today when I tried to get some piccies and the cockeral went a bit mad when I went near which I will take as a good sign.
