  • stowaways!!

I took my friends and there child to an activity farm yesterday and tried to act surprised when we got back and found 6 warrens in the car.

    I didn't know they were there......honest

I popped them in the garden with the others (except Kiev as he is on holiday next door) they got along better than I thought even with the 2 head girls.

This morning I let them out as usual and the new girls just stayed in the shed, but by the time I had been in for coffee and breakfast 4 had came out to have a look around. As it is such a nice morning I went in the shed and coaxed the other 2 out, they are all now very happily exploring there new home.

So there are 14 out there now and 6 due to hatch soon.

Now lookie here young lady, that'd be stealing if you didn't take 'em back....

But then I reckon the farm knows where they are, just make sure you don't go getting too many stowaways now

I had a word with the girls this morning and told them it was wrong to put a box in someones car, jump in it and sit quietly, and that really they should go home again. They just went into the shed, up on the roosting bar and are now staging a sit in. What can I do? I think it maybe easier just to let them stay and free range instead of living in that barn they came from.

and don't forget the vending machine also needs to vend corn and mealworms if the chooks are on the step too

*looks around* now where can I find some like minded chooks to stage a sit in by me ........

Well the girls sit in worked except for one, I left them in the garden yesterday while I popped out for an appointment on the way back I got caught in traffic, so it was dark by the time I arrived home. I went to lock them in as usual and one was missing, I looked by torch light with my husband until gone midnight but she wasn't to be found (horrid thoughts all night). This morning I went to let them out and after about 10 minutes a heard her in the hedge she jumped down and looked awfully pleased to see me (big cuddles for her).
So I think she needs an extra long stay on the norty step.
I am going to try for pictures today (weather is horrid) I don't know if they will pose but I'll give it a try.
