Anyone keep these birds and any ideas?

i have the silver appenzeller and i found that the cockerels tend to get the head feathers quicker and grow quicker. however, Jennie uses an old wives tale to sex some of her chicks with surprisingly good accuracy - around 80%
make a paper aeroplane and chuck it at your chickens. They must be around 10 weeks or more otherwise they dont have the right reflex. If the birds duck, then they are hens, if the birds jump at the aeroplane they are cockerels.
as i said, it sounds daft and jen and i tried it for a giggle but its not too far off the mark. However, if you do it frequently they get hardened to the idea and ignore it, some cockerels leg it and some hens attack it. so as a bit of fun try it, but remember its a bit of fun, not gospel -
