Sebright eggs

I reckon you've been done, DDL! Sebrights are true bantams (no large fowl version) and lay tiny white eggs. Sorry!

Why don't you try incubating them anyway just to see what comes out - mystery hatch? Chances are they may not come (infertile/old/the usual e bay rip off) but you could try for a laugh.

Did the seller have any other eggs on sale? Maybe (just maybe!) it's a genuine mix-up and you've got someone elsa's eggs.

Suechooks is right, it could be a genuine mess up, or they may simply not know what they actually own..although if the pic was of their own birds and they were definately sebrights then that doesn't seem likely.
Have a quick look to see what else they were selling..if these were all then take a pic of them next to an ordinary hybrid egg as evidence, and e-mail the seller to ask for your money back..unless they were a really cheap buy when it might not be worth the hassle. Ebay will definately get money back if the seller tries to dodge as this would be a case of false description which they try to stop.
And do let us know DDL..cos I'm suffing from a severe dose of curiosity now

Old bantam hens do lay larger eggs. Some of my old pekin banties lay eggs as big as a large hen's egg.
Even so, when you buy hatching eggs you are buying a pig-in-a-poke. You can't be sure whay will come out of them, if anything!

Thanks for your advice everyone - yes you were right. Genuine mistake. The chap concerned is also selling duck eggs and got the labels mixed up. All sorted now. Photos to follow if everything works out.

Look forward to seeing them DDL. Sebrights are gorgeous little birds and I have been tempted on more than one occasion to get some (but haven't yet). They're not supposed to be particularly good layers, just ornamental, but who cares when they are so pretty!

I have 2 seabrights 1 silver & 1 gold now 9 weeks both friendly & very pretty but no idea what sex they are
