Default Sachie's first egg

My chick called Sachie layed her first egg to day. Had 14 eggs all together. I know it will be yummy.

Mummy is going to poach it for me .

That's so cool. Where did you find it? Our chooks refuse to lay their eggs in the right place - we have to search all over the garden for them!

Congratulations Lauren, I'm sure it will be yummy too.

Paul, The trick is to keep them in the run till they have laid. I never let my 2 out till there are two eggs (or else lunch time if not). Keep this up at least until they get into the habit.
Other thing is they do less damage to the garden if they only get out a few hours a day.

One of our chooks (Delicious, the naughty but ravishingly beautiful one) only ever lays eggs in the afternoon. On the plus side, she prefers to lay her eggs behind a bush right outside our front door, which I think is a very endearing habit!

When I went down to feed them I saw her coming out of the house, thought nothing of it until I checked the nest boxes. Knew it was hers because its almost white and tiny compared to the others.

I've had a few eggs 'laid' in the run while the girls were getting used to being chooks. Mine can only go in one of the two houses, cause I don't let them out to range unless I'm there.

The question is, does she take after you or me?

That's lovely Lauren, hope you enjoy the egg. It will be the best egg you have ever eaten
