    just a quick question

    at what age will a cockerel start crowing?

    The cockerels will often be crowing by six weeks of age.

      My two started at about the same time their sisters were at point of lay...about 6 1/2 months

          one of mine started about 7 weeks and got progressively louder and more constant till he moved house at 15 weeks the second started about 9 weeks wth the occasional strangled duck impression....the 3rd crowed once about 10 weeks and once at 15 weeks .... but was pretty quiet .... the first 2 got incredibly annoying for the neighbours about 12 weeks.

            Be a very small pot at 6 weeks >.< Hope mine dont start at that age.

              Too right......I'll just have to put some acoustic tiles in the chook house until they are Sunday dinner size!

                even when they start to crow it's not really crowing more like a strangled duck/goose for quite a few weeks and not very loud at all, certainly not louder than a chook laying eggs, took quite a bit longer for proper loud crowing.

                  And at 18 weeks he still hasn't said another word... his brother is making up for it though.
