Someone must be missing it (possibly like a hole in the head!)
It shouldn't pose a danger to the chickens, unless they breed and you get chickpeas!

Don't think it will hurt the chickens. Peacocks seem to have a tendancy to roam esp if they don't have a mate. It may leave of it's own accord or you might have to find it's owner - any farms/zoos/parks/pubs/estates nearby? They roost in trees so not sure if it will be joining your girls in their coop tonight?
I had one turn up in my garden a couple of years ago, ended up taking it to live with a chap I knew who already kept them as I couldn't find the owner.

it will be fine, but it's owner is probably looking for it, they can travel quite a distance when they want to.

I would love a peacock to come and live with me! I love their cry,like a wolf howling but in bird form. It will probably take off when it senses a peahen in the distance.

There's a couple of peacocks living on the industrial estate near me. Tey wandered across the bypass from a small farm nearby and have shown no inclination to go back home!!

Don't know about your chooks but it will make a HUGE mess of your raised beds, pull up ALL your plants and if male, make so much noise that your neighbours will beg you to get a cockerel instead.

The hotel up the road from us has a small group and whilst we're far enough away that the noise doesn't bother us, screams and screeching at 10.00pm in the summer must get fairly tiring for those who live closer.

hmmmmm wonder if i can get a peacock, and let it loose down the bottom of the garden ....... and pretend no one owns it, so the neighbours won't even notice the cockerels
