  • Miss Bossy Dead!

Went and fed my hens this morning, noticed that Miss Bossy was not out, I thought she was laying but had a peep any way and saw that she was dead just under her perch, so sad

She had been a bit quiet a few days ago but when they went into the larger pen she was having a good scratch. I've no idea how old she was, had a moult last year and her feathers were lovely, its such a shame.

Really sorry to hear that. They do seem to go downhill quickly. Was she an ex-batt?

Hello again all & Thanks, you're an lovely bunch

Suechooks; she wasn't an ex batt as far as I know, funny thing, tall brown hen with black legs who was a brillian mum & laid white eggs. The place she came from was a grot hole, should have reported the bloke, I know more now about hens. 3 of the 5 I bought died, 4 never laid but I was happy as they were great fune and at leat they had a nice life at the end.

I'm dreading losing one of mine. One of the white ones was sunbathing this afternoon and I rushed over thinking the worst! She gave me a filthy look!

Sorry to hear of your loss, but as the others have said, at least she had a good life with you.
