  • Milly in the sunshine

Recently I was looking at this picture of Milly taken September 2013 when she first arrived and it just sums up how cruel it is to keep hens packed in a barn. She is Really enjoying dozing her first ever bit of sunshine and she's so bedraggled from barn life.

She is of course beautiful and healthy now as are the other three who were equally sad when I got them. It's great to be able to give them a second chance

Thank you both, it's been a pleasure to see them flourishing. This was Milly last summer. And the other two are Maggie and Tilly. Alice is somewhere else. Not a bad life for them now!!

And here's another photo of when they first arrived, we weren't really ready for them so they just had a teeny run, they've a much bigger run now and free range most of the time. I have to admit, I just love them

Just to add, that's Tilly Alice and Maggie. You'd hardly believe they are the same hens.

Thank you, yes I think it was their lucky day when they ended up with me! The hens who weren't rescued were sent off to be rendered! Ugh!
