  • I'm getting 4 'posh birds' next week!

I know, I know, you don't have to tell me!

But I sent the lady an email, and she sent me one back, so I'm off to collect 4 Marans next Saturday afternoon. 2 for my Mum for Mothers' Day and 2 for my Dad for his Birthday 3 days later!

Haven't decide between Maran Cuivre or Maran Coucou yet, but they do sound posh . Will wait to see what they look like - I may get two of each, so they know who's is which.

Yes - I will post piccies, but you've got to wait a week!

I only really know the 'cuckoo' type, but I always liked those. Mottled black-and-white feathers (it looks a bit like a very small checked pattern), but males have a lot more 'white' to their mottling, so easy to spot gender as soon as they grow any feathers!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

They're coming from a lady in Stebbing, near Great Dunmow. Google Happy Hens, or Hens4Homes. I got the recommendation from an old thread on here, posted I believe by KirstyB.

I can collect more for other people if required!
