My heart goes out to you, it really does. It's such sensless killing when the meats not even taken. No consolation to you I know but nothing's going to soften that loss.

I think your guess is probably spot on, it looks like ferret / stoat type damage. Having 1 bird left, i wonder if they / it where disturbed by something / one and got scared off before they got to your last bird. Perhaps someone on lotty can tell you what happened......

That's just awful, Matthew. I haven't a clue what could have caused it, but I know how I'd feel if they were mine. Heartbreaking for you. I've had chooks for five weeks and I can't imagine life without them.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

                  That's terible Matthew!
What a way to find the poor chooks.

Was the run and coop padlocked? Just trying to rule out any two legged virmin!

You think you've done everything you can to protect the chooks then something like this happens. The only way to protect them I presume is to cover the whole run with small gauge chicken wire I would think.

It'll be interesting to see if the others are attacked pretty soon.

I am actually led to believe that it could be 2 legged vermin with some trained ferrets. We have not been welcome on the field since day 1. We were forced to get rid of our crowing cockerel a few weeks back (the other 2 killed today were only young).

There is a 360 degrees view camera located in the council yard right next to the allotments. It has a good line of sight to our plot so I shall be there first thing in the morning to see if they have anything. Knowing my luck, the tape would have run out.

                          I am soooo p*ssed off!!!!!

I did think that might be the case, it's just odd that 1 bird was left and although it was throats taken out, they look pretty clean considering....a wild killer would have taken them all down and eaten something surely.....but I didn't want to put horrible ideas out there without evidence or knowing the back ground first. Truly shocking

How terrible! Does seem strange that nothing was taken or eaten. I'd suspect some kind of human interference with whatever actually killed your chucks. So sorry. Hope you find the culprits.
