sneaky girls! my hens have had all day in their pen, quite happily chooking away when i decided to go out for an hour to my sons. Came back (about hour and a half later) to find garden in disarray and 2 out of 3 chooks quite happily strutting around garden! Can't find any way they got out and they have never shown any jumping tendancies so have no idea how they got out! I have the feeling that they were waitng for us to leave before mounting some kind of great chicken escape - either that or they are practising some poultry illusionist show where they disappear to somewhere new! Sneaky girls- they gave the cats a bit of a fright!!

One of mine, Lavender, always used to manage to jump over the fence. Every morning without fail, she'd come out of the coop with all the others, have a drink, a couple of mouthfuls of food, do a poo, then saunter down to the end of the run, have a quick look to see if I was watching then bounce straight up in the air and over the fence She always went straight back to the gate to the run and would go back in no problem. Bless her, I miss her
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there
