Somechicken has been eating eggs. I think the problem started after a friend overfed our hens on wormer and they laid soft eggs for a while. I started finding the tell tale slashed and broken egg shells in the run about once a week, but recently it's been every day, and it's no longer just the soft eggs (which have tapered off). OH insisted it was rats, but then he also once though that roosters were just hens that didn't lay eggs and made alot of noise.
It's soooo maddening coming out to another sticky, mess in the nest box, so I had a little expirement. I left an egg out in the open, thinking I'd sneak back inside and watch from the top window, but Ginger, the bossiest of the bunch, almost fell over herself the moment she saw the egg and ran right between my legs and attacked it. I'm fed up with this behavior and she's currently in the ark while I look up a good recipe. Any suggestions?
