  • Finally..a few piccies!!!

Splashed out and bought a camera yesterday because apart from some piccies of chicks and dog, I have a couple of cars I need to sell spares or repair on eBay so NEED some piccies.
Camera has 16 meg of onboard memory so I didn't think I would need to buy a memory card............fat chance!......I got FOUR piccies then I was out of memory.
Bought a 4 gig memory card now though so should be able to post a few more soon.

Seven chicks hatched from 12 eggs on 26th Feb 09. Two salmon faverolle cockerels and the rest are Light Sussex (unsure if they are cockerels or hens!) One chick is some form of hybrid I think as he certaily don't look like a Light Sussex even though he came out of a Light Sussex egg! The pictures are of them esconsed in my octagonal chicken coop (with branch I dragged from the woods today)!

Those chicks look great Snadger I'm hoping to move mine outside into their permanent home in the next week or so - once my son-in-law has hammered some hefty stakes into the ground to make a separate run that is
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

It's amasing what can be knocked up from eight doors fixed together in an octagon shape. Looks like a ginormous dovecote!

cheers there Snadger they look good.

Any chace of a pic from the outside to see your door creation? Perhaps you can enter it into the Tate Modern?

..... so any thoughts on breeding the Snadge later?

The Snadge is the one on the right in the first pic..it should be white with a black head.....it's a colour negative.

Now I've got my 4 gig memory card I can be snap happy to my hearts content so may oblige with my 'creation' piccies!

Oh when the Snadge starts to become available, I'd be interested! She sure looks good!

Fab piccies, and I love the snadge.
I can only see 1 maybe cockeral in the sussex so you have done well on your hatch. out of my original 6 LS chicks I bought last year 3 were cockerals and I can say they do taste nice and the one that has survived is very impressive and guards his girls very well.

Well done you and that des res coop is absolutely fantastic.
