  • ex bats today !!

We picked up 1o ex bats today from Dorchester, they looked so sad in the crates but the team worked hard to get them out and rested.
All our girls are home, fed and watered and resting !! One is very tired and quite but im hoping it just the stress of the day ect and a good nights sleep will perk her up.
Here they are, will show them again when they are beautiful again

    Aaaaah - well done you!

I looooooove seeing newly-rescued ex-batts, it reminds me of how bad mine looked back in November last year. They look like real chickens now. Doesn't take long.

Brings back memories that does! I look at my ladies now and can't quite believe they ever looked that bad. Heres hoping they settle in well for you.

They just look so pale and sad-eyed. It does bring back memories and I love to look at my lovely fluffy chunky girls and remember that they too looked like that - long time ago now - I'm so happy they've actually had longer out of the cage than they were in it.

Congrats there. They sure will apreciate the chance to learn to be chooks! Been meaning to ask you where your name comes from. in particular "Shona"....

It always amazes me how aful people are to animals and when they wan't to hurl an insul they call you an animal.................. just how ignorant is that.
                      Well done you

I saw Suechooks ex-batts the day she picked them up. I nearly cried - I couldn't believe that a so-called civilised society could be so cruel and uncaring. Now whenever I go the allotment I just have to go and see Sue's hens - they are wonderful - fully feathered and cheeky as heck.

Well done to all of you who rescue these birds and good luck flowerofshona.
