  • Ducklings

Went to a how at Ardingly Sussex, and came home with 2 aylesbury ducklings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I know but.....

Apparently they are 2 weeks old and have put them in with my 2 week old pekin chicks. They are all currently in the dog crate under the electric hen in the front room.

Any suggestions and advice on keeping ducklings/ducks.

    Thanks

If you havent got a pond get a paddleing pool they love a swim....if you do have a pond get a paddling pool as they withh eat everything in it.....But treat them as Chicks..unless you have a dog or a cat as they will decide that they are a dog/cat. Our duck thought it was a Boxer dog....

Our four rescues had a pond dug yesterday and the wendy house moved under an apple tree in the orchard to become Duckingham. They are just over 4 weeks now and boy do they have characters.........

They are mallards that turned up on the doorstep when they were about 2 weeks with no mama in sight.

Pond now has a diving board and a slide

When they are big enough to be safe with our cat around they can go out but for now they are in a big plastic bottomed indoor rabbit hutch lent to us yesterday as they've outgrown the cat basket........

Yep ducks have a very messy way of eating
