Chicken names

Flower names..Rosie, daisy, clover, buttercup, etc
Food names ...tikka, Sunday, korma, omelet etc.
All starting with the same letter..lady, Lizzie, Lois, Louise, Lucy, Lola, etc
if they all look alike call them by the same name

My daughter names her after herbs and spices (ooo, how about Spice!). So cinnamon, ginger, parsely etc. I've got no imagination and try to link to some physical attribute - tufty, dotty, custard (yellow colour...), cobweb (pattern on wings). I've got a Mischief / Miss Chief for obvious reasons. And a sky because she used to take off and head skywards when we first got her - but now she's big and heavy and... well matronly

... so it doesn't work quite so well!

Victoria (sponge)
Swiss roll
(Jam) tart
Dumpling
etc etc

I do think though that if they are all the same breed, only a few will stand out enough to recognise....the bossiest, the fattest, the fastest and the meekest....all the rest will just be 'the girls'.

I agree with muddled, if they are the same breed it's just too difficult to tell them apart! Mine are "the girls" though we have had a few that got named, one stands out - bus driver, purely because he was a miserable, mean, old bugger just like the boys school bus driver

They may not all keep there names. Some may have a different name every time I see them. But I like to start with good intentions
