I emailed them and got a response in a couple of days. I think just now is the busy time for them, so maybe that is why?
Our BHWT folk didn't have enough chickens for everyone wanting them

I emailed my co-ordinator. It took a couple of weeks to get a response and then it was a phone call nearer the time of the rescue date to confirm I was coming and how many hens I could home.

Are you after some ex-batt hens? I'm planning a rescue June and another July and I'm still looking for rehomers. Email me on carly@northlondonhenrescue.org.uk if you are interested, and I'll send you our blurb by return, no obligation. i don't do phonecalls either, (because it drives my family nuts) but I'm pretty quick with the email.

I think BHWT coordinators are all overwhelmed with wait lists at the moment, so they have no great incentive to get back to people.

Best wishes, Carly.

Default Bhwt

I emailed ours in Scotland and after a fortnight I called. I spoke to the Coordinator's wife who was absolutely lovely. I'm sure it varies in different areas but in Scotland thay are still very much working on building good relationships with the farmers and they have a waiting list of over 1000. They are so busy campaigning too. (Hellmans mayonnaise is about to go Free Range.)

I got a reply to my email within a day (Warwickshire & Worcester) and was asked to phone for a chat. I did that on Friday morning (it's Sunday now) and I'm collecting 3 next Saturday. I think it's as everyone else has said, they're inundated with requests since Jamie Oliver and Hugh what's-his-name did their programmes in January. Try a different co-ordinator? I know there is long waiting lists in some areas but I was lucky and managed to get a "cancellation"
