Khaki Campbell from the research I have done seems to be the best layers upto 300 eggs a year.

I'd go with Khakis too, but have you considered geese as an alternative or as well? Geese will lay one egg a day for a very long period and the taste is just like a very rich and large hen's egg, ideal for omelettes and souffles etc., but a bit too much to eat as a boiled egg. Geese also have wonderful temperaments and will keep the grass trimmed. It's the gander that tends to be aggressive but I think you should put up with that and keep the girls happy by running one with the flock. Geese also are more robust, can look after themselves better than ducks and are very long lived.
