I give mine both
Belt and braces job. The garlic helps to keep mites and lice at bay, the bugs don't like the taste in the chickens blood

I think its also supposed to make their gut inhospitable to worms too Stu. I got some at Countrywide in the horse section. I was advised to put 50ml in their water once a month.

You can either chuck a couple of lightly bashed cloves into the water and change them every week, or you can use garlic powder (the stuff they use for horses) in their feed. I mix a bit in with a warm mash with a bit of ACVMy girls found their way into my heart and now they nest thereComment
