No. I couldn't keep a hen in a little space like that. I know it's luxury beside what the battery hens have but if I couldn't give them a proper life free ranging most of the time then I wouldn't keep them. That's why I don't have any.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

That's a broody house. Once the chicks are big enough you let them out in the daytime!

The hen and her brood look luvvvvvly, but it's a we bit small. I'd worry about the red kites we have hovering here with the chicks if they free ranged. Someone will have a nice big run for them, good luck and I'll ask about.

Not trying to be rude I think it's a tad expensive. I'm no joiner or anything but I could make one for less. It probably wouldn't be as well made but I'd give it a go

I think it's a bit pricey and I'd have to be sure those babies were girls.

It's not mine. I wanted it, but chooks of ANY kind are out for us. We go away too often.
I do not believe red kits would attack chicks that were with Mum (if at all, they aren't really hunters of birds). Buzzards maybe, but that is the point to a broody run until they are big enough to deter hunters

Yeah, and no-one's buying. We rely on houses getting sold (surveys for purchasers) to make a living!

Struck me as a bit pricey, but it WAS the whole thing, with feeders, drinkers, banty Mum and chicks all included (still a bit pricey though).
The place (we dropped in to buy eggs) obviously makes the runs, because there were a couple of half-finished ones as well, and timbers 'cut to size'.

My husband has made all our own hen housing, and it does work out more costly than you think, if you are using decent timber and wire/weldmesh. And don't forget the time it takes to do it. He recently made a large broody ark and it took all weekend.

hard to say Because pf the breed of chicken My guess £20 drinkers fiver each= £10 chicks 4 pound each ,I can see 3 so about £12
                              Umm £42

Making that small cheap looking plywood box with unsuitable chicken wire cost £198 I think you should Turn and run 'forget about that one Hilary lol
