Perfect we getting somewhere, yup carrots too, do you like lettuces? they also easy and they grow real quickly. If you want to use the greenhouse, perhaps buy a couple of tomato plants for this season and from next year, you can get a head start on chillis and tomatoes and cucumbersNever test the depth of the water with both feet

i agree with RT, lettuce easy and rewarding. Also legumes (beans and peas) of any kind...
Radishes are both quick and easy, if you like 'em.
Some say spring onions are supposed to be easy, but I always have trouble.
And maybe some herbs? Chives are REALLY easy and self seed everywhere.... Thyme and sage are also easy, but maybe not so much from seed....

Hello FP3 and welcome from me too. You should concentrate on growing the things you like to eat, that way you'll enjoy the work that you need to put into gardening. Some veggies are easier than others, I grow mixed salad leaves for example. The seed packets contain lots of different seeds and you just sprinkle on the ground, give them a bit of a rake around and some water and watch this space. In a few weeks the seedlings will appear and soon they'll be large enough to pick, either as individual leaves or by taking the whole plant. I pick the leaves separately as that gives the plant chance to continue growing and you can pick from it for longer.
You could also buy a couple of tomato plants and put those in your greenhouse. They are quite easy and there's lot of advice on this Forum about looking after them. Have a search and see what you can find.
Finally, enjoy it, because growing your own can be a lot of fun!Comment

......like others have said, grow what you like to eat. It may be a tad late to grow some things from seed but by all means give it a try. Have a look at the thread "What I did today" it will give you excellent info into what other grapes are doing.....good luck.

Hi there - and welcome! Glad you are starting young!
When I asked the gardening club at school what they wanted to grow, they were all keen to grow potatoes and radishes. It is a bit late to start potatoes but you could try a few in a tub in the greenhouse as an experiment. We were lucky on our garden club plot because there were 4 potato plants growing already when we started in April.
I am not sure all of the club really like radishes - so we are going to have a taste test before everyone sows loads of them.
Other things we are growing are basil, strawberries, carrots, courgettes, tomatoes, sunflowers, sweetcorn, beetroot, lettuce and spring onions. And a few callaloo for some grannies who want to cook some!Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?Comment
