  • Worms in chilli seeds?

    Hiya,

some of my chilli seeds that have sprouted seemed to have lost their first leaves still within the seed shell, which then dropped off. So now I I have three chilli stalks. I wondered what happened, if a snail had snapped them off or my boy, but today I spotted two tiny wriggly worms within the latest seed shell?

    Anybody come across these before?

I haven't come across it myself but I suspect they are from the compost. Compost is often host to little flies which will have a wiggly stage in their development. Try again with fresh compost and maybe give it a blast in the microwave first?
