  • Where are my potato flowers?

All my potatoes seem to be doing quite well with lots and lots of leaves, but asset I haven't had a single flower on them. The taties are being grown in bags, and have really developed very quickly, but it's the flowers - or 'lack of' - that are worrying me now, and I don't know what to do to encourage them. Could anyone offer any advice on this, please?

Some don't flower. What spuds are you growing?

Flower don't matter even if you do get some. They certainly don't indicate that the crop is ready

Is it a bit early for flowers? Mine are flourishing but no flowers yet.

Isn't that weird, I've always waited for them to start flowering before having a furtle. You learn something new every day.

I had flowers on a tattie in a pot, had a furtle and found a couple of small spuds, so, getting excited, tipped the lot out. There were only a few more and none of them of a decent size

I've got flowers on the lotty spuds.
I was surprised because it seems they only went in the ground a couple weeks ago

One or two of mine have started to flower, but haven't been in long enough yet, the first lot weren't planted until the beginning of april (under cover), so I'm not planning on furtling for at least another 4 weeks.

Edit: 7th June as I planted 26/2/13 according to Sarz's undercover thread it pays to record
I might just wait a tad longer.

Thank you for your reply. I have some Charlottes and, I think, Maris 'somethings' - I'm a tad unsure on the second lot because we (my girlfriend and I) got them from my girlfriend's Mum and Dad...
