  • Where are my peppers?

I sewed my peppers 2 weeks ago now, but am yet to see anything come up?
Everything else i planted at the same time have sown themselves, even the chillies. But not a peep from the peppers at all.
Is it normal they should take so long, or has something gone astray?

My chilli's took longer then my peppers, but the peppers took longer then the tomato's.
Would have expected to have seen a small light green stem with a seed cap still attached to the end of the tiny stem at this time - perhaps.

Taking the easy option I would leave them for another week, maybe two but also sow some more if you have space for what could be extra numbers.

Was the seed fairly new? Just ask as some I had that was 2 years old have all proven deceased. I only really gave them a try as I had them around and sort of hoped I might get lucky, I didn't.

My chillies are a good inch high now, and the tomatoes have already been re-potted...
I couldn't resist, went for a poke in one of them to see if it was just below the surface, hasn't even germinated!
They were brand new, 2 different varieties, mini mix and colour spectrum.
      Somewhat annoyed now

Hello Tatty, it has got to be dodgy seed as I am growing Minimix and they are over 12in tall now. If you got your seeds from one of the big seed sellers like Tea and Mmm etc tell them and see if they will replace your packet.

They are both the same brand, Mr Fothergill's, who knows if they are normally any good or not...
But surely it's pretty unlikely to have two separate varieties both turn out to be dodgy seed?
          Surely I've done something wrong

Trying to chit some now, should reveal all...

Its possible Tatty, a couple of weeks ago i sowed Bella and La Diva cucumber, both from t and m.
I had one La Diva germinate, yesterday i planted the last bella seed so we will see but i dont hold much hope, pound a seed as well.

Have sent them a message, the joys of Facebook!
Tis pretty annoying though, especially as I'm already a bit late on the season!
