Seems like a dim question, but I'm wondering what you all do in the summer. I want to sow some seeds in modules (chard, kale, basil, dill, more lettuce etc etc) and it's so hot! In spring, I'm lucky to have a greenhouse, but that is way too hot now and full of plants. I tried germinating in the garage then bringing them out but the seedlings are both leggy and frazzled.
What about a mini greenhouse by a West or East facing hedge so the seeds get some but not loads of sunshine? Would that still be too hot?
There's also direct sowing, but the slugs would do their worst and there'd be nothing left!
