  • Where to buy plant shelve racks?

Does anyone have an idea where I could pick up one of these for a few quid?

Sorry, no Dave. They look great but I wouldn't maybe use it to germinate seed due to each shelf blocking too much light to the next shelf.

    Kind Regards.......Rob

I bought blowaway growhouses at the end of season sales and used them for racks and shelving inside my greenhouses and extension to my shed etc.

        Thanks for the replies.
I should have mentioned that my intention is to ad flouroescent lights beneith the shelves for indoor growing.

I keep seeing them in supermarkets and think they'd be ideal.

Yeah, that would work Dave, but expensive to run I guess.

I use cheap wooden shelves that have been ousted from the house. I think they were £15 each new, but have served me very well in the greenhouse as well as outdoors for four, five years now

Apparently you can buy them from plant companies in Holland for about £150 each!

Thank you for all the replies.
I was thinking the metal shelves would be a cheaper option, but it seems I was wrong!

                    Thank you!
I was loooking at plastic containers and wondering if it would work.

I'd love to hear how you are getting on with your set up, and if you've got any tips for lights etc. LED vs Fluoroescent?

Have a look at Dexion shelving on EBay. You can always build your own to your own spacings.

They have others too, looking a little less flimsy. A few castors on the bottom, and job's a good'un!

                            Excellent!
That's exactly what I've been looking for, but didn't know the name to search for.

                            Thanks!

I bought something similar on EBay already.
