When to pot up onion seedlings

I usually wait till the bent over leaf has straightened up. I've just done it with mine and potted them into biggish modules, one per cell. They look pathetic! However, I know they'll fatten up.

As Flum says, when the hook has straightened up. I would put them into small pots or modules of a cell tray and then pot on when the rooots have filled the container.

Thanks Flum and Rustylady. At the moment they are in trays in a cooler part of the house. Once potted up, can I move them to my mini gh or would that be too cold for them?

Mine are in the cold greenhouse now. They're farily tough.

If your short of space you can plant them out in clumps rather than singly as they will push apart and find their own space.
