    What size final pots for tomato plants?

    Hi

    What size final size plant pots do I need for my Sungold tomatoes? they are currently outside but will be moved into a new greenhouse in a few weeks

    Im looking on ebay and not sure what size to buy? is 10 litre ok?

    I think so - I use buckets which I guess are 2 gallon = 10l (from Wilko, about 79p each, from memory) and put one tom per bucket. Remember to feed and water them well.

      I use the black flower buckets. Got them from Asda just for the asking; I've heard that Morrisons are equally obliging.

        5ltr is ok too if you feed and water reguarly - but you really do need to keep on top of those every day whereas with the 10lt, you can get away with watering every couple of days or so...

            Morrison's black flower buckets are ideal and if you have to pay for them are about 99p for eight. Just put four or five 15mm holes in the bottom for drainage and away you go. You will need to water every day on the hottest of days and feed regularly to get a good crop.

            When the first truss has set I water, then feed with tomorite and then water again. This is more than recommended but it works for me. My Sungold go to five truss's which gives me about 100 toms per plant.
