    What to plant when?

    I know there is a wealth of information on this forum and it has already been really interesting it's also wonderful to know that I'm not the only "newbie" gardener out there; but what I could really do with is a book to tell me exactly what I can plant when..maybe month by month..and what I should be sowing/germinating etc etc..I'm so excited by this who experience I don't want to miss any planting opportunity (and what should I be doing now ready for next year).

    As I said on my post a few minutes ago, just waiting to have dinner - courgette and bacon past, using our very first crop of home grown courgette.....yehhhhhhhyyyyyy.

    Any advice would be very gratefully received.

    Well if no-one can suggest a good book Emma I suggest you gather people from the forum together to help you write it because I'd buy a copy!
    Definately a 'must-have' newbie's tool.

        Yes, I would like just one book to tell me when to do what - the book recommended by Two Sheds looks good though.

        Another thing I have a problem with is knowing what I can sow/plant to follow on from other crops without messing up the crop rotation thingy. I hate to see ground not being used!

          I was quite pleased with myself this weekend having wandered into a charity shop for shelter from rain & got a copy of :
          Vegetable and Herb Expert: Amazon.co.uk: D.G. Hessayon: Books
          (1997 revised edition) for £1.50!!
