    Please a little help, i have grown my first wallflowers this year now that they are finished and not looking very tidy can I cut them down to the ground ? TY

    I pulled all mine up this week and put them on the compost heap. If you cut them down they won't re-grow, but if there are a lot of non-flowered shoots you can cut the dead flowers off and leave them for next year.

    You'll get better flowers if you sow some seed about now to make new plants for next year. I sowed mine a couple of weeks ago and they are nearly ready to prick out into modules, but there's still plenty of time to get the seeds started, either in a seed tray or in a spare corner of your garden.

    The seeds last ages, I'm still on the same packet I bought 5 years ago.
