  • true shoots [ leaves ]

silly question i know, but whats true shoots/ leaves,
people keep saying " after the true shoots/leaves apear, then you can repot
    whats this?

When your seeds first germinate, the first set of leaves to come are 'seed leaves'. They aren't the same as the leaves that the plant will grow later. So the second set of leaves are known as 'true' leaves because they are the ones which the plant has grown itself, as opposed to the 'seed leaves' which are stored in the seed.

Hope that makes some kind of sense?!

No - Leave them be. They are the food for the plant for its first few weeks.

I think so...unless there are any quirky ones that prefer it. I've not come across any yet.

With beans, the bean forms 2 shrivelled up arms....not like leaves at all but they hang there and you want to pull them off but it would be cruel!!!

my lovely wife bought some off ebay for our rabbits to graze on for a healthy snack

                              The mix contains:

                              CHICORY
                              PLANTAIN
                              VETCH
                              ALFALFA
                              TIMOTHY GRASS
                              SOW THISTLE
                              RED CLOVER
                              WHITE CLOVER
                              MARSH MALLOW
                              DANDELION
                              PARSLEY

and we planted them with our little boy a couple of days ago.
The seedlings are popping up in our kitchen at the moment. Once they're nice and established we're going to pop the tray out in the little greenhouse and i'll take some pictures. Not sure how exciting that will be!

so not quite baby rabbits popping up, thankfully!!
