I usually am.
But at the moment I am totally lacking enthusiasm. I think it is just with having too much to do in too little a time, with too little energy.

That, and Mr Sheds doesn't care a darn about my garden

You're definitely hooked susie!! I haven't lost that exited feeling when something pops up through the soil- just wait till you actually start eating your produce- you think germination amazing!!!!

(Mrs Snadge doesn't even know where my allotment is................ and I've had it for three years!)

snadge, I don't mind if he never comes to my lotty (it's my sanctuary) but he isn't even interested in the made-over back garden. Even if it's sunny, he would rather sit indoors in front of the goggle-box, watching any old rubbish

I'm also totally obsessed....I sowed some cumin a few weeks back and they are through but nobody else, even my OH who loves growing flowers and stuff, would understand the excitement...he just says 'oh, good' in a completely dead pan response.

I agree Snadger I love TS's garden because of it I get lots of lovely advice. The way I see it no garden no advice

My attempts at gardening have saved me. I'm so down at the moment that I can't leave the house on my own but I have to go into the garden to check on stuff. If I didn't have that I would't leave the house at all.

Everytime I look at my garden my first thought is dad wouldn't be doing it as haphazzard as I am. He was always "grow things in straight lines" He was a perferctionist and his veg showed it.

My lines on the other hand are very wibbly wobbly and possibly a few seeds mixed up

You must love him very much TS!
Mr Creemteez is not a gardener, but he is very into DIY, and has built me all my raised beds, my double composter and a huge cold-frame. I DO love HIM very much!

Revel in the excitement and good feelings that seeing your veggies grow gives you. I'm sure nurturing a garden has helped many people out of a "dark place", and at the very least you are treating yourself to a little fresh air and excercise - not to mention eventually eating wonderful fresh veg!!!

Suzie....I was planting out with my nieces and my OH's daughter on sunday.

Niece is nearly 6 and still knew which was up the onions sets went - genius! Same with the garlics.

I told them to throw the onion sets up and plant them where they landed - they looked in horror and said - no, they wanted straight lines. So, they planted against a cane.

I made them throw the garlics in randomly and they planted them where they landed.

Now't wrong with wibbly wobbly, put things where they fit, and although I often AIM for lines, I can only do this with onion sets, everything else is pretty much higgledy piggeldy. I think the plants like it that way...after all mother nature doesn't sow in straight lines does she?

Even my peas and beans, planted into trenches are never actually in any straight lines.

for extra fun, go out and tread all your labels into the soil, so you don't know what is what.

I am so glad that I am amongst fellow addicts here, , I have felt like bursting these past three weeks. Its certainly spring ! lol with a whole new meaning!

I used to get excited about a new summer wardrobe, now I spend my time in charity shops hoping to pick up an unusual pot, basket or other garden related receptacle!!

To think I have days of panic over things being slow, then suddenly everything is romping away. I need to pot on loads of toms to the next size pot. And we have had so much sunshine that its been hard going keeping up with the watering.

I love hearing about all your gardens and plots - it keeps me on my toes.

Andrea your niece did better than me. I planted my shallots on a particulary bad day and had to go out the next day and turn some of them over.

My tomatoes, courgette, peppers and aubergine are still hiding. I'm wondering if I need to start some more. They were started nearly 3 weeks ago in the spare room near the window.
