  • Is it too soon to move Tomato plants to mini greenhouse?

I have started some tomato plants off on a windowsill in the house and they have now got some true leaves about 10 days ago and they are around 3 inches high. Will be going away for a few days next week and wondered if it would be ok to transfer them to the mini-greenhouse. I thought if I left them on the windowsill they might get too drawn & leggy by the time I got back. I have never tried growing tomatoes before and don't want to lose them.

I would think it was too early, if you get a frost on a placcy greenhouse your stuffed. Is there anyone who would come in and turn them for you?

      Thanks Fiona
Most of my neighbours are not around all week, but i think I know someone with a conservatory who might be able to give them a few days holiday in return for a plant.

What I do when on holiday - is pop them in the bath, with a really thick old towel, and soak the towel. Usually bathrooms are quite cool, due to the smaller windows, and so the water doesn't evaporate.

I'd sooner trust the bath with them than a neighbour, unless they were a good friend and a gardener as well.
