  • tomato plants

    hi i planted some tomatoe seeds quite a while ago now as this is the first time i havnt got a clue and i was wondering how long before the tomatoes actually appear someone please put me out my missery
    this is a pic of them now if it shows im not sure how to put pics on here.

    yes the pic worked. now just to solve the tomato problem do you think ive put them too close together?

          the carrots look good next to the tomatoes.

          they have been planted far to close together and possibly too late. when did you plant them?

            I that size container, one plant would have been fine.

            Next year get a grow bag, they take 2 plants nicely.

                growing some myself, put them in late august after my others finished. to keep them from the frost have now relocated them to a shed.

                I used to use that size pot too, and put one either end. growed everywhere, but obviously trimming the excess away solved that.

                  sunflower96, I've moved this thread along with 2 others of yours into the 'New Shoots' board, because 'Allotment Finder' is a board for people looking for an allotment, not really a growing advice board. Hope that helps.

                    Your seed packet *should* give you spacing advice.
                    Tomatoes need about a foot apart from each other, and nice deep pots, 15" or wider. I personally wouldn't grow them in a shallow trough like that.
