  • Spud Protection

    Hi All,

I have planted my Maris Piper maincrop potatoes back in early April and have seen no signs of any shoots - I buried them about 6" - 8" down as per instructed - should I have seen something by now?

I have also read a thread on slugs attacking spuds and never really gave it a thought as to how to protect them - apart from slug pellets is there anything else I could use (when and if I ever get any shoots!!)?

    Thanks in advance.

Slugs attack the potatoes themselves, rather than the foliage.

The other big problem with potatoes is of course Blight.
