  • Sparaxis Harlequin

Hi Guys and Gals,, can these Sparaxis Harlequin bulbs be planted now direct to ground or is it better to start them of in pots.
my idea is to have them running up the side of the house.

Ive just had a quick g@@gle. I can't see much info on them. Perhaps wait until someone pops in that grows them...though if it was me I think I would start off in pots, though really depends on how far north you are.

I grew them in a teracotta pot outside and planted them the end of summer last year. I can't remember exactly when they came up but it was at the same time as the ornamental alliums I planted in the same pot. TBH, I wasn't impressed with the flowers that came up. I don't know if it was the growing conditions or the variety I bought.
