Slightly purple tomato seedlings

I think that's a sign of them being a little too chilly... Mine did it too and I've turned the heater up a tad, they seem happier now. They'll survive down to 5c, but they're much happier at 10c or above.

Hi Sarah

That was quick!!!! I will keep them in the heated propagator with the lid off for a while then and see what happens. Thankyou very much for that.

My Rio Grand toms have a pinky tinge to them under the leaves....and once my toms start to be hardened off they get a purplish tinge....if they are healthy I'd leave some as they are - they soon rocket away once it warms up.

While they look quite good with a blue or purple tinge it is definately a sign that they are too cold.

Nope, as you say, the toms are blue with cold!

What fantastic response. Thanks everyone for your help. I have turned the heater up in my greenhouse beyond "frost free" - What a brilliant website, I will be visiting a lot more often.
