  • Should my potato's look like this?

I have have seed potatoes in the ground and in bags and the ones in the bags have exploded. Are the leaves supposed to be that big? I have earthed them up and there is enough space for one more earthing up. I can't remember the name of the potato but they were chitted as normal and been in the bags for about 5 weeks.

Here you go, just popped out and took this to show you my spuds. In the background there are four qashqai tyres stacked up to give an idea of size. Your potatoes look fine to me.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I'd have been lost without the wise old viners on grapevine, you are all brilliant to the newbie who join, we'd be lost without your advice, books are all well and good but nothing like experience to help others. Ta

With the looks of those they have some growing to do yet. If they are main crop the haulm will cover the bags almost entirely.

These are some of mine in standard 80ltr plastic dustbins.

How many seeds do you put in a dustbin Potty?..............I'm guessing 4.

Thanks all. Nothing to worry about then. Guess I will be using bigger potting mediums next year. I have a couple of recycling bins that aren't in use so will use those. In fact I could probably plant some winter spuds in them this year.
