  • setting beans?

I overheard 2 old guys (80 each if they were a day) at the market last week asking each other if they had 'set their beans' yet.
One of them has set 3 rows.

(nosy me lol, listening to other people's conversations)

I wondered what kind of beans they were? What it means to set them and if I should have mine in too?!

Probably broad beans, they're the only ones I've got in at the moment - apart from some very early experimental dwarf French beans for inside growing but they're Piglet Willie's fault!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Me too Alison. Can't see out of the kitchen window at the moment because of him and his bright ideas.

The first one got to the top of the 3 ft cane yesterday. Dwarf...yeah - right! I chopped it off but it's grown another inch today.

            lol @ zaazen.

I was planning on raking the bean bed over today ( no I don't mean torturing wee haydn) and getting my toilet rolled broadies in that are about 6 inches high and been outside past few days.

Maybe I will do that then if I see them next week at the market I can join in and tell them I have set my beans too
