    Hello All

Would it be ok to put fresh seaweed between rows of potatoes or runner beans to feed and mulch.

    Hi
I'm sure I heard somewhere that because of polluted oceans, you should be careful about using fresh seaweed.

Yep- unless you're using it on asparagus beds! ( winter application - not now!)

you do need to wash off the salt- hose it on the driveway if you can ( if it drains onto the road!!!!)!

Put it in the washing machine on say 30, that way you helping to give back to the planet what your taken

Giving it a good spray with the hose should do, to get alot of the salt off

Sorry, I didn't mean to scaremonger. I was really put off by reading about it, so I composted the seaweed I collected in the summer in the hope that it would be broken down. I wont be afraid any more now, thanks.

Great around your potatoes. Saltiness seems to deter the slugs.
