    Ready, Steady, Go.........

    I live on the SE Coast and our weather has been very mild for a few weeks now. I have runner beans, french beans and courgettes that are all a good size, also Squash and Pumpkin. For the last 10 days these have been standing outside in the garden and put in unheated greenhouse over night.

    I am now feeling they 'might' be ready to go in their growing positions in the raised beds. I then want to start hardening off my tomato plants.

    Is anyone else planning on planting up at this time? Or am I being foolhardy to begin this process yet.

    I would be glad of your thoughts as I do not want to kill them all off but I really want some space in the GH - this is my first year of growing veg.

    My courgettes, beans and some squash have been out for a week now, I am a little farther south though..............
    (I even have a tomato outside - but it is a bought plant)

      You can always put a bit of fleece over them if the forecast is bad

        My squash, courgettes and sweetcorn have been outside for three weeks now, and are doing fine. Mind you, I have been putting plastic bottle cloches on them on the odd night that it's got cold. My toms all went out a week ago - no covers at all but in sheltered sunny corner. Long range forecast is looking good too!

          Oh great !
          You have all made me feel so much better. I will get some fleece and keep eye on the forecast. I was trying to wait as suggested earlier but the plants are so big now and some of my neighbours have their runners out.

          I will probably keep just a couple back just in case :-)
