Default Raised Bed

I already have my little allotment and am thinking of using the link a board system at home to give me more space. Has anyone used this directly onto a patio or should it be sighted onto grass or open ground. Any hints or advice would be gratefully received

Hi
I missed this threat over the holidays - sorry.

Mainly, if the things that you want to grow are ones with roots, I would think that putting it onto a patio would be too shallow. So; good for lettuce, not good for carrots!

I'd agree with that, unless you're planning to make your bed quite a few 'boards' high? I wouldn't site it on grass, unless you're putting weed suppressant down first or having a good depth of soil, as the grass/weeds could potentially grow through?
