Does anyone know if the bags that they give you for paper recycling are any good to store potatoes in, ours are white, but are made of the woven / hessian plastic material

Probably not - they'll let some light through, and the spuds will go green... Why not just use a sturdy cardboard box? -
I wouldn't, they are likely to "sweat" and go mouldy quickly. There is also the light problem as previously mentioned. You can use a cardboard box but I find they do fine simply put in a old wooden cupboard (with a few ventilation holes drilled in) in my garage. You can also buy paper sacks cheaply, just Google "Small Holder suppliers" to find local stockistsOriginally posted by KTM250 View Post

Just ask at your local chip shop and they'll give you some of the paper sacks they get their spuds in for nowt!
